The plates
Seven projects · many plates, one table

Norma
Moroccan small plates in Lisbon. I co-own it, cook there, and designed the menu and the space.

Bora
An intimate hygiene brand for Continente: identity, packaging and a box that becomes the display. Honourable mention.
JOOJ
One-off garments cut from thrifted Moroccan fabric.

Moscavide
A food festival for a neighbourhood of nine languages: research, an alphabet found on its roofs, and signs without words.

The Glow
An animated story video mapped onto seven picture frames, by DeLightful Collective.

CerciOeiras
A new identity, two web pages, an art stand and a silicone grip for a cooperative supporting people with disabilities.
A1 — About me
Mise en place
Growing up without a father, people sometimes treated me as though something was missing. My mother gave me everything I needed, and I wanted to decide for myself what would make me stand out.
I left electrical engineering to explore making things. I started JOOJ, turning second-hand fabrics into one-off garments, experimented with photography and screen printing, and found my way to studying design at IADE.
Then a friend and I opened Norma in Lisbon. He’d do the wine; I’d cook Moroccan small plates. Restaurant experience? None. We redesigned the space ourselves and learned by showing up, making mistakes, and trying again.
At IADE, I developed Bora, which received an honourable mention, worked on CerciOeiras, and co-founded DeLightful Collective. I’m also a designer at BeSpoke Group.
Different tools and materials, but the same discipline, curiosity, and love for making things. Many different plates, one table. I’d rather try and learn than keep wondering what might have happened.

Play a game
Ronda.
The card game every Moroccan grew up with, on my cutting mat, with a deck I drew from scratch. You against the robot. First to 41.
